TCRA Rodeo Queen's Contract and Guidelines
- Miss TCRA must be 17 to 27 years of age as of January 1 of the
reigning year. She must reside in Tillamook County or a county that
touches Tillamook County. She may be single or married and have no
children or been pregnant and remain so during her reign.
- Miss TCRA will be the Ambassador for the Tillamook County Rodeo and
will be expected to portray the highest moral standards and show the
ideals of womanhood. Appearance shall reflect being on the job
at all times setting an example beyond reproach, upholding a proper
lady-like image at all times.
- Miss TCRA and family members are expected to represent the Tillamook
Rodeo in a courteous and professional manner. Any misconduct,
including but not limited to the following, will not be tolerated and
may be cause for dismissal:
- Inappropriate behavior and/or use foul language
- Drinking of alcoholic beverages or use illegal drugs
- Smoking while at required functions
- Abuse or neglect of her horse
- Verbal or physical abuse including gossip of anyone, including Miss
TCRA's family members, TCRA Board Members and volunteers
- Miss TCRA will be required to provide herself with a horse and
transportation suitable for the activities that she will be asked to
participate in. Horse must be healthy, current with vaccinations,
worming and hoof care. Insurance for herself, horse, vehicle and
trailer will be required. No Stallions or wet mares are allowed.
- $1000 is provided Miss TCRA shall raise additional funds from
sponsorships, fundraisers, donations, etc. All monies become the
property of Tillamook County Rodeo and reimbursement will be made upon
receipt of expense reports with complete backup documentation
(receipts, etc.) up to the amount in her ledger account.
- Miss TCRA will be expected to attend all TCRA designated events.
This includes all scheduled board meetings. The coordinator shall
approve the schedule for all activities relating to Miss TCRA.
Promptness is expected at all events and absences must be
pre-approved. Official duties begin January 1 following the coronation
extending through the month of December of the same year. Also, Miss
TCRA will be expected to help at the following years rodeo by carrying
the flag for Grand Entry in both Saturday and Sunday performances of
the Tillamook County Rodeo the summer after her reign.
- Miss TCRA will be responsible for the purchase and upkeep of her
tack and clothing. Her wardrobe will be approved by the coordinator.
The Queens wardrobe is to be worn at specified functions only. Clothes
must be cleaned, pressed and starched. Miss TCRA shall keep herself
neat, clean and well groomed at all times and she will be expected to
dress appropriately for each event, meeting or appointment when
representing the Tillamook County Rodeo Association. Horse & Tack
shall be presentable and in clean and safe working order at all times.
For whatever reason any items purchased but unused become property of
the TCRA.
- If a TCRA Queen continues to apply and represent other rodeo
associations after her TCRA reign is fulfilled, she may not solicit
civic organizations or businesses in Tillamook County, for any rodeo
purpose, without first asking permission from the TCRA Board of
Directors.
- If at any time you are observed
violating any of these rules by the TCRA Queen Director, members of
the Board of Directors, or any of the Tillamook County Rodeo
Association general membership, she will be barred from participating
in the next event; the second violation will result in dismissal
as the Queen of the Tillamook County Rodeo. At this time, the
Runner-up will be asked to assume the duties of Queen. If there is no
runner-up the TCRA advisor and the Board of Directors reserves the
right to either appoint a queen or contact the past queens (in reverse
chronological order) until a former queen is found or forego a queen for
that year.
- The following is the property of the
TCRA and will be returned in good condition within 10 days of
completion of reign or immediately upon dismissal:
- Crown
- Serape
- Breast Collar
- Chaps
- Saddle Pads or Blankets
- Parade Flower Pack
- Arena Shirts (used to build a queen closet)
- Garment Bag
- Any Items unused or borrowed
Miss TCRA may retain upon completion of the reign the following
(Unless she wishes to return these items to the TCRA for the Queen's
Closet):
- Dress Outfit (dress, skirt and jacket, etc.)
- Buckle, necklace, earrings (unless borrowed)
- Arena Shirts
- Hats
- Pants
- Boots
- Coordinator will have full authority in making all decisions
regarding Miss TCRA.

their entirety and I do herby agree to abide by these rules of the
Tillamook County Rodeo Association for the entire duration of my reign
should I be chosen as 2008 TCRA Queen.
