The Tillamook
County Rodeo Association is looking for young women between the ages of 17
& 27, single or married, to try out for Miss TCRA 2009!
Applicants must be a resident of Tillamook County or a county whose border
touches Tillamook County.
The pageant for the 2009
Rodeo Queen will be held on June 27, 28 & 29, 2008 in conjunction with
the 22nd annual Tillamook County Rodeo. Clothing requirements are a well
fitting western shirt of any color, jeans, belt, boots and western hat.
Chaps and/or gloves are not allowed. Contestants will be required to give a 2-3
speech, model, impromptu questions, a written test on rodeo knowledge, and
sell $250 in rodeo tickets. The speech topic is "Looking Great in
'08".
Horsemanship requires contestants to perform a riding pattern, work cows
and a flag presentation on your own horse, and a pattern on a draw
horse. Horse must be quiet, well managed, well mannered and suitable for
the activity. No stallions or wet mares. Miss TCRA is very busy during the
spring and summer months, traveling to various speaking and rodeo
events that they will be required to attend. Miss TCRA will be required to
attend all TCRA rodeo board meetings and she must be able to provide
transportation and insurance for her horse as well as herself. As a
contestant you must agree to all rules and regulations and to sign all
consents and waivers of liability.
